The Athletic’s Manchester United correspondent Laurie Whitwell has tweeted some glowing comments in the direction of Harry Maguire, pinpointing one aspect of the centre-back’s performance which was “vital” against Everton.
The England international seemed to be on the end of everything the Toffees threw at him on Sunday, making a whopping 15 clearances against Carlo Ancelotti’s side while being unfortunate to have even conceded a goal – the Merseysiders only found the net after David de Gea blasted his kick at Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
It was Maguire’s 28th Premier League start of the campaign, meaning that he has started every single league game for the Red Devils since his £80m move from Leicester back in the summer.
When tweeting about how the former Hull man left Goodison Park with the Man of the Match award, Whitwell highlighted the 26-year-old’s “aerial presence” as one aspect of his game which was “vital” against Ancelotti’s side.
